Definition
A trade mark is a visual symbol, word, letter, number, shape, packaging or colour or combination of colours used by a business to distinguish itself and its products from other similar goods or services from other traders.

Procedure
- Once the application is filed, you will receive an acknowledgment receipt which will be used to file the Trade Mark.
- The Application will be sent for examination and once the examiner is satisfied, it will be published in the Trade Marks Journal.
- If there is no objection within 4 months of publication, the mark will be registered and the registration certificate will be issued.
- If there is an objection, you will need to file a reply and attend a hearing.

- Trade mark (label / logo / packaging / shape / combination of colours) to be registered.
- If the trade mark is being used since a particular date, evidence of use from that date.
