On October 20, 2011 the Chairman Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan (IPO-Pakistan) formally launched digital Trade Marks Journal. Digital Journal is now available at IPO-Pakistan’s website www.ipo.gov.pk
Rule 29 of the Trade Marks Rules, 2004 dealing with ‘manner of advertisement’ has been amended for publication of digital Journal which now reads as under (amendments shown in bold):
An Application for the registration of a trade mark required or permitted to be advertised by sub-section (1) of Section 28 shall be advertised in the Journal either in printed or in any digital form during such time and in such manner as the Registrar may direct……
The first copy of the digital Journal is of January 2010 published on October 20, 2011.
